Paula’s Journal: Week Three. Part 1

Dear Sharon and Armand!
The first three days of this week I was still on the cruise or on the way home from it! So, the first three days aren’t so good but for the last four I’m back on track.
I’m feeling pretty good this week. It’s amazing how good food (or bad food, depends on how you look at it) and too much of it can make you feel. I have so much more energy when I’m eating right and exercising.

I’ve already gotten rid of 4 pounds — down to 201. I had such a drastic change in lifestyle between last week and this week. I guess it serves as a good contrast between how eating healthy and exercising affects you — and how eating anything and being lazy affects you mentally and physically. I think I like the healthy way better!

It’s a little work, but it’s worth it! I did cardiovascular exercise four times this week — between 30 to 60 minutes each — and two shorter 20-minute walks in addition to that. So I did really well with exercise.

You will see a change next week where I’m biking more. I’m having pain in my heel so I need to stay off of it as much as I can. Lucky for me it’s daylight saving time this weekend, and it will get dark later, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

I’ve gotten to 15 reps on a few exercises so I increased the weight a little. I guess I’ll get the hang of how much to increase after I’m doing this a while. It’s amazing what a couple of pounds feel like when you increase! It seems like the weight workout is so quick that I feel like I’m not doing anything! And that’s a good thing because it will be easy to keep it up at first.
