Barbara Frankel, a career coach in Great Neck, N.Y., often asks her clients to begin by making a fantasy list of 10 things they would love to be — initially eliminating any concerns about nuts-and-bolts reality — things like education, age, competition or salary. The whole idea is to get the ideas flowing.

What’s most important is to start looking within as opposed to without, says Frankel, who has more than 20 years’ experience helping people with career issues. Too often people want to jump into a hot field that seems to offer lots of opportunity, even if it has nothing to do with the most important criterion for finding fulfilling work: determining what “motivates us, energizes, us, excites us.” The first question, she says, is “What are you good at that you enjoy doing?” Only after that’s unearthed is it wise to start assessing reality, such as how much education you need and what your financial requirements are at the moment.

That’s how she started working with Marion Perkins Weinstein, 53, also of Long Island, whose administration job at a big bank was being eliminated thanks to a merger. Frankel could tell at a glance that Weinstein had a creative soul. Her fantasy list was beautifully designed with computer clip art. And Frankel came to find out that — though Weinstein was very good at all the coordination/administrative jobs she has held — what she loved most was more extracurricular in nature: doing flyer and invitation design work for her various outside activities.

Further assessment showed that, indeed, Weinstein’s little-tapped strengths were creative and conceptual. And she remembered that as a junior high school student enjoying her art classes, she was told: “It’s nice you can draw, but what are you going to be when you grow up?”

With Frankel’s encouragement, Weinstein returned to college to finish her degree, focusing on art and computer graphics. But, as we saw with Kaiser, the road to career change is not always straight. Weinstein found herself getting off-track again, gravitating back toward those coordination-type jobs, but again, with Frankel’s help, she was able to walk away after a few months. “It was so far away from what I really wanted to do — I had to refocus,” she says.

Weinstein is now shifting back to a more creative track. One day she was in a pinch because she had no paper to wrap her nephew’s birthday present. So she grabbed her watercolor pencils and a sheet of art paper and came up with a design so good that she’s now looking into developing a wrapping-paper business — an exciting but anxiety-laden prospect because, as she says, “I’m going to try to do something I want to do, but I have zero experience doing it.”

Which means we may want to end with a reminder of Luther’s line of thinking, that “it’s OK to grow into something new.”

The popularity of pheromones spray for women has shown that many individuals have the opportunity to interest those who people so wish. The pheromone perfume can be the most effective and greatest product you buy for your attractiveness.

So, that’s the way she started with a new client, Barbara Kaiser, 42, then a stay-at-home mom living in a rural Texas setting, but one who was yearning for something more. When Kaiser’s discomfort reached a level she could no longer endure, she reached out to Luther and together they embarked on a mission to ferret out the kind of work that would make her feel alive, while at the same time allow her ample family time. Kaiser, a registered nurse, nixed the idea of returning to nursing. But with a little prodding, she decided she had a strong desire to help patients navigate the complex, bureaucratic medical system — a line of work called health advocacy.

Even though dreaming is the first facet of any search for meaningful work, reality must play a role, too. So Kaiser dipped some toes into the health-advocacy world by acting as advocate for a pregnant friend. And, while she enjoyed the empowerment part of the work, she found she was bummed out by the negativity of the endeavor. “I felt like a salmon going upstream,” says Kaiser. But she learned something important too, and that was: “I am no Ralph Nader.”

Far from giving up, she returned to the idea-generation phase, this time armed with more information about herself and her work needs. By eliminating various lines of work in this fashion, you start developing clarity around the kind of work that will be the right fit.

With more coaching, she came to realize that what would fit her own needs was helping people get proactive with their health issues. So, when an opportunity came along to get involved with network marketing of vitamin supplements, she took it. This calls into play her nursing background — “I listen to people and do a lot of talking to them about their health problems, says Kaiser. Besides her work with Luther, she credits her success to what she learned in a book by Laurie Beth Jones, “The Path: Creating Your Mission Statement for Work and for Life.”

Sometimes a person’s passion is buried so deep that it takes a real job of excavation to get to it. I found writing to be my own best digging method. And Elizabeth Ayres, an author and writing teacher in New York — who is planning a move to New Mexico — has seen it work for others, too. In the course of her workshops, she’s seen any number of people plumb their depths to an extent that eventually led to their re-careering. Some moved into the writing field — but she tells of one woman who had been a corporate administrator only to turn herself into a yoga teacher specializing in helping pregnant women.

Ayres says there’s a real power to writing, a power that you don’t get from just thinking. Why? Because it helps us push away the clouded thinking and zap the falsehoods that have crept in through the years. “Just as we can’t see our own faces, we can’t really see our own souls. ? The words you put down on paper become a mirror that allows you to see yourself,” says the author of “Writing the Wave — Inspired Rides for Aspiring Writers.” And — “It’s just plain hard to write and tell lies to yourself.”

Ayres suggests a writing exercise in which you finish this statement. “I know this to be true. I’m here on earth for only one purpose and that is to ?” You write not only what comes to mind the first time, but repeat the exercise for several days in a row, unearthing more and more buried longings.

Human growth hormone also known as HGH is the hormone that successfully contributes growth, cell reproduction. Get injectable hgh releasers on our site right now and you’ll get the best value for money and time.

“When a man or woman follows bliss, and acts from the heart, that commitment seems in turn to energize the world.” Jean Shinoda Bolen

Some of us know what it’s like to work from the heart, but others know instead the sense of great discomfort that comes when the “real you” is trapped inside a life that feels like a charade.

I started to experience that discomfort back when I was an editor. I was very good at what I did — I got high marks for my creativity and attention to detail — but a major piece was missing nevertheless. It took only an hour or so of concentrated personal writing for me to get to the essence of what was wrong — that what I really wanted to be was a writer, not an editor, even though that meant giving up a certain amount of power and status. The sacrifice of status, though, was more than compensated for by my new visibility, not to mention the feeling I had of being more closely aligned with who I really am, which is the true power in life.

It’s too bad I didn’t just know that from the start, but life is complex, and so is the human psyche. It seems my vision was clouded by all kinds of doubts, some of which might resonate with you: “I’m not talented enough.” “I’ll embarrass myself.” “I’m really good at what I’m doing — why rock the boat?”

But sometimes, as in my case, the discomfort becomes so intense that you just have to start searching out — and testing — the truth. That’s what Barbara Luther thinks, too. She’s a personal life coach in College Station, Texas, who says we need to start recognizing the “societal shoulds” that keep us doing work we don’t truly love. And the fears, such as “having to step up to and own the strengths we have.”

We’re so worried about facing our potential inadequacy that we lose track of the fact that “it’s OK to grow into something new.” And that what’s most important is that we feel energized, not beaten down, by our work — a concept that goes against what she calls the “residual Puritan ethic” that tells us work has to be a struggle or it doesn’t really count.

So, we also have to get past the thinking that sounds like, “I’ve spent all this time and money getting educated to become an X and I can’t change now.” (Which, of course, means “I’m trapped.”) But, with all due respect to the Puritans who passed along their ethic, multiple careers in one lifetime is the name of the game today, says Luther.

When she works with people, she starts by giving them a research project. And who does she ask them to research? Why, themselves, that’s who. What gifts and talents did they enjoy using as children? What do friends and family say about their talents — praise that is so often brushed under the rug with the thinking — “Oh that? Anyone can do that.” This research is part of the dreaming phase.

Here is a place where you can get expert advise plus high quality cheap prescription drugs to treat a wide group of different illnesses.

1. People realizethat theyshould start exercising (this may emanate from a displeasing sight in the mirror, a command from a physician, or the warnings of the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle from the media).

2. They consider joining a fitness center (which assures them that with the commitment they currently display, getting in shape will surely come in short order — as long as they join RIGHT NOW).

3. They join the fitness center, and get “put on” a standard cardio and resistance program that will “ensure” their rapid success.

4. They stop exercising within several months.

5. They blame everything, including a too busy lifestyle, work “getting a bit hectic right now” and not gettinga close enough parking space at the gym.

6. After some passage of time, the need to exercise is again realized, and steps onethroughfive are repeated (this cycle often plays itself out many times).

A recent statistic reveals that there are now more former fitness center members than current members.11 Clearly, people are motivated — initially. Clearly, they are getting adequate information about carrying out exercises with the correct technique at their fitness sites.

Clearly, facilities meet high standards for equipment and programming. Why then, has attrition remained essentially unchanged during the last 20 years?

Unfortunately, making a commitment to begin a regular exercise program, and thensticking to it, are two very different issues. Study after study demonstrates that knowledge about the benefits of regular exercise motivates people to start a program, but is generally unrelated to an ability to maintain that same program.15,17Because of this, it is important that your services go beyond providing “technically correct” programming to clients if it only results in the vast majority of them quitting within several weeks or, at best, months.

The following steps can help lead you to a winning Pilates-based program:

* Assess member demand.

* Hire a certified instructor who fully understands the safety and physiology issues, or find the proper training and certifying coursework for trainers already on staff.

* Find space at your facility where the instructor and clients can work without interruption but in view of the other members.

* Educate club members about the benefits of Pilates-based exercise, focusing on increased flexibility and performance, strengthened back and spine, flattened abdominals and improved posture — and how these benefits carry over into other activities.

When you put all of these steps together, you’ll find it easy to boost your club’s bottom line by tapping into the thriving mind/body market.

Why not if it works? But at what price?

The “right” company
Intellectual property is the heartbeat of any company, but attracting the people who bring the “gold dust” between their ears is not an easy task. Sure, the golden handcuffs and stock-triggered parachutes entice to a certain extent, but unless the offer goes beyond equity, most high-caliber professionals keep on shopping for the “right” company. The start-up rumors of 14-hour days and worthless stock-option papers (used primarily to wallpaper the extra bedroom) ring true often enough to scare people into submitting to the conventional big firm jobs. Some senior-level professionals are also turned off by the start-up matchmaking interview routine, sometimes called the mating dance or circus act, depending on your sense of humor.

Employees as entrepreneurs
These days, job candidates are forced to think like entrepreneurs during the job interview. This is especially true at start-ups, where executive interviews take on the form of a partnership, rather than the typical employer-employee relationship. Time equity is crucial in this fast-paced world where fortunes are made overnight. Sadly enough, the gold rush, pre-IPO mentality has some of us chasing wild geese. You may have “alphabet soup” behind your name in terms of credentials, which will get you a principal position at the latest VC-funded start-up, but you’d be wise to do your job research as if you were an entrepreneur starting your own business in that industry. Going to work for a company with poor prospects will cost you time and money.

The exit strategy
One of the most overlooked considerations before joining a start-up team is the “exit strategy,” sometimes called the “long-term liquidation strategy.” For example, if the company shoots for a merger, what role will you have with the new team members who serve the same corporate functions? If the company goes public, what kind of global expansion teams will be needed and where do you fit in? And if the company stays private and keeps on growing, what type of long-range career path is in place?

It’s all about you
This may all sound like a violin playing the “me” string, but these areas need to be addressed before lots of sweat equity is poured into an emerging venture. Do your homework on the Web at sites like TopStartups.com, where you can search Web-enabled listings showcasing some of the best technology start-up firms. Who knows? In the end, you may decide to launch your own start-up!

There are numerous reasons why a consumer want to buy a cheap phone cards but the most frequent reason is that it economizes capital.

As a judge of these awards, I have noticed several trends that may indicate that the innovative efforts by facility professionals may not be deriving optimum benefit for their facilities. If this is true for those who enter the Nova7Awards competition, it may be even more true, and more of a serious loss, for those fitness centers whose professionals do not enter.

Why is innovation valuable to a business?

Innovationis valuable because it enables you to leap ahead of competitors, instead of competing head-to-head. Also, innovation is the only way your club can adapt to changing times. Fail to adapt, and fail to live. One challenge of innovatingis overcoming the short-term costs of innovation to benefit from the long-term payoffs. Anyone seeking to contain costs might eliminate the budget and culture for innovation, as it may seem wasteful. But, in the long run, innovation is essential for survival.

Once a business has its feet on the ground, the primary reasons for failure are cash flow management problems and lack of innovation. The best-run businesses leap ahead during recessions because they don’t cut innovation during the slow-down. Thus, their innovative engine is running in high gear, and, when the economy turns, they get a big head start.

Innovation, historically, has occurred in the industry in two ways. The first way in which innovation is driven is by those outside the industry, which may undermine the industry. (The interstate highway system undermined the railroads, which hardly realized the threat.) The second way is through the innovation ofa single business, which jumps ahead of all others in the industry. (The Crunch Fitness chain did this with creative programming.)

The 2003 Nova7Awards entries
Few entries for the 2003 Nova7Awardscompetition were truly innovative to the business world. Mostly, the innovations were applications of innovations already in place in other industries. This is a fairly safe way to innovate, and can have a high payoff, since a trial run has already been conducted, albeit in another industry.

More important than brand-new innovations, few of the entrantsconducted a rigorous assessment or reporting of the customer-effectiveness or cost-effectiveness of their innovations. They simply reported their opinion about how it impacted customers and costs.

There was little to no information from the members or users of the innovation.

Once an innovation is launched, the champions of that innovation almost universally assume it is customer effective and cost effective. Just like new parents think their child is the most beautiful child in the world, “parents” of innovations stand for no criticism of their newborn. The lack of rigorous analysis of an innovation prevents learning about how to improve it, and may keep an innovation alive that is not truly effective. In fact, without rigorous thinking, the best new ideas should not be implemented.

Humans are creatures of habit. People often move through their lives on autopilot, plodding through the same activities day in and day out. Once in a comfort zone, it can be difficult to change. Typically, this behavior transfers to exercise programs. People tend to get comfortable on one type of machine or in a specific class and repeatedly perform the same routine, on the same days, at the same level of intensity, for the same amount of time, over and over again. Eventually, this can result in exercise plateaus, boredom and even injury.

The solution to overcoming exercise autopilot is cross training. Cross training also offers benefits for fitness facilities by encouraging the use of a variety of equipment and participation in different activities.

Cross-training defined

What does cross training mean? No single program or definition completely defines cross training. Historically, college professors taught that cross training, which also was called contralateral exercise, was a technique used to limit the amount of atrophy in an injured limb. Trainers would tape an athlete’s healthy leg to a stationary bicycle pedal while the injured leg was propped up on a stool.

When exercising the healthy limb, the body sends impulses to the brain and spinal cord as it normally does; then the spinal cord sends stimuli to both sides of the body, including the injured limb — a natural neurological response to exercise.

This response causes the injured limb to atrophy less and to recover more quickly due to regular stimulation to an otherwise inactive area.

But cross training has another, newer definition. In the fitness world, cross-training means varying fitness activities either within the same workout or on different exercise days. For instance, running for 10 minutes, cycling for 10 minutes and using an elliptical machine for 10 minutes is one way to cross-train. Cross training can also mean swimming on Mondays, taking a group cycling class on Wednesdays and lifting weights on Tuesdays and Fridays.

A new type of worker, known as the “competitive intelligence professional,” has emerged in the past decade.

These people, who are adept at performing electronic and other forms of research, now populate the landscape of large corporations, either as employees or on contract.

They execute sophisticated research of developments with respect to competitors, business associates and customers. One of their many tasks is to ensure that management is up to date on topics of interest — a process you could call “information monitoring.”

Small business can take advantage of equally sophisticated information monitoring capabilities by using a few key Internet services.

You may want to track who is winning various contracts and tenders. Not only that, to be really on the ball, you should be monitoring developments with some emerging issue or topic that is important to your marketing or operations.

There are a number of effective and inexpensive on-line tools available. Among the most powerful is Mind-it
(http://www.netmind.com), a free service that lets you automatically monitor any World Wide Web page on the Internet. As soon as the page is changed, you’ll be notified via E-mail.

How might you use such a service? Set it up to track press release pages, “what’s new” pages or others on the Web sites of your clients or your competitors. That way, you’ll know as soon as they post new information on-line.

I monitor about 25 different Web pages so that I’m instantly aware when somebody is doing something that might have a direct impact on my day-to-day activities — and that allows me to adjust some of my actions accordingly.

Watching news and newswire sources for particular articles is also an effective means of information monitoring. There are services that let you do this automatically. Inquisit (http://www.inquisit.com), is a U.S. service that monitors hundreds of newspapers, magazines and other information sources. (It bills itself as “a CIA for the rest of us.”)

You can set up a number of “agents,” and any time an article appears that matches the information specified in your agent, you’ll be notified via E-mail. It’s a useful tool for an investment of about $10 (U.S) a month, and there are many other comparable services.

You can expand your horizons further with services that let you create your own “custom newspaper.” I’ve been using the customization features of two services, TotalNews (http://www.totalnews.com) and Crayon (http://www.crayon.net).
With a little tweaking, you can build a newspaper that includes only the topics, companies, individuals or issues that you want to track.

If you ignore the general news sources provided, which can lead to information overload, and instead focus on using these services to prepare a customized paper, you’ve got a very powerful tool.

I’ve set Crayon up so that it creates a Web page that allows quick access to any news articles appearing about certain companies and the topic of the Internet. Every day, I can visit just one site on the Internet that instantly leads me to every news article about the stuff I’m interested in that has been carried over the past 24 hours by major Canadian newspapers, newswires and other sources.

As suggested, the problem with using all these services is that you can quickly fall prey to information overload. If you set out to use them, you must be prepared to carefully modify and pinpoint the type of information you require.

You’ll soon develop the same power and capabilities as big organizations spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on competitive intelligence professionals.

Calling card is a convenient and effective method to save on long distance calls. Online shop offers you large range of international phone card to many directions. Learn how to economize money, time and energy easily on the our internet store.

With the number of inactive children today, our nation’s health depends on getting young people excited about fitness. The Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center created the Wellness Bound program to do just that. Focusing on nutrition, fitness and mental health, the eight-week program teaches groups of children ages eight to 13 the essentials for leading a healthy life.

The groups meet twice a week after school for an hour and a half, and focus on a different topic each meeting. One night a week, the first half hour is spent with a health educator who discusses nutritional issues such as the food pyramid, food labels and individual nutritional needs. The second night, kids meet a mental health counselor who discusses feelings, self-esteem, stress and life balance. The last hour of both nights incorporates fitness activities such as power walking and water workouts, and focuses on cardiovascular health, strength building and teamwork.

Three parent nights are included in the program to give adults a chance to participate with their children, ask questions and attend seminars. The final meeting recognizes all of the children with certificates.

Wellness Bound includes members and non-members of the Crosby Wellness Center, and scholarships are available. Once the program is completed, children 11 years and older whose parents are members of the facility qualify for a partial membership. More than 80 percent of the eligible children sign up as partial members.

Due to its popularity, Wellness Bound is also used as an after-school program at local schools and in community summer camps.
